 The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN ECLAC) was established in 1948 to promote economic and social development through regional and sub-regional cooperation and integration. This toolkit for women includes links to report, statistics, documents, forums, news, training and related networks.

The aim of the website is to bring together relevant data on trade issues and their gender-differentiated impact on women.

This website provides information on gender responsive budget analysis.

 

The international Gender and Trade Network (http://www.genderandtrade.net/index.html)

This is an international network of gender advocates actively working to promote equitable social and sustainable trade. The network utilizes research, advocacy and economic literacy to address the specific trade issues of the seven regions: Africa, Asian, Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, North America and the Pacific. There are links to papers, resources and research.

 

ICT-Based Enterprise for Women

This virtual workspace on ICT-Based Enterprise for Women provides knowledge about the relationship between women, development and ICT-based enterprises

 

Women’s World Banking (WWB) (http://www.womensworldbanking.org/English/1000/index.htm)

The WWB network works to expand the economic assets, participation and power of low income women as entrepreneurs and economic agents by opening the access to finance, knowledge and markets.

 

The World Bank: Gender and Development page

In 2001, the World Bank adopted a gender and development mainstreaming strategy. This page has links to the implementation of this strategy. There are links to analytical tools, operational work, capacity building, documents and reports and external partnerships and links.

 This is a compilation of statistical information on social indicators on: child-bearing; education; health; housing; human settlements; illiteracy; income and economic activity; population; unemployment; water supply and sanitation; youth and elderly populations. 

 

Commonwealth Secretariat: Gender Section (http://www.thecommonwealth.org/Templates/Colour.asp?NodeID=34021)

The Gender Section of the Commonwealth Secretariat focused on implementing the Commonwealth Plan of Action on Gender and Development (1995-2000) for the past 10 years. In 2004 a new Plan of Action for Gender Equality (2005-2015) will direct the Commonwealth action for the next decade. The Gender Section of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s website includes information on its core activities, publications, reports, papers and newsletters.
